Some persons broke the seal, put up by MC officials last week, of an illegal building at Gheo Mandi and started carrying out construction work here on Tuesday.

After getting information, the estate officer called one of the persons. But, he reportedly used a foul language against the officer.

On the directions of MC Commissioner Harbir Singh, estate wing officials visited the spot and again sealed the building.

Sushant Bhatia, Estate Officer, MC, said, “We will not tolerate encroachments on MC land. We have again sealed the building and warned the occupant to face strict action if he again attempts to open the building.” The estate wing officer also asked the occupants in nearby building to show the documents of their ownership.

The MC had sealed the illegally constructed building and seized construction material on Friday. According to information, there was a well of the MC alongside a petrol pump in Gheo Mandi. Now, the land is lying open.
