Haryana CM flayed for remarks on Kashmiris

The Damdami Taksal and the Amritsar Vikas Manch, an NGO, have flayed Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar over his remark on Kashmiri women.

The Haryana CM, during his address at an event in Fatehabad on Friday, had said that people were now claiming that Kashmiri women could be brought to the state for marriage now as J&K’s special status had been revoked.

Taksal head Sant Harnam Singh Khalsa said people holding high positions must exercise restraint during their public address. He said the dignity of women must be maintained at all cost.

In a separate press release, the Amritsar Vikas Manch, too, flayed Khattar for his remark. Kulwant Singh Ankhi, patron of the Amritsar Vikas Manch, said Pakistan’s stand on Kartarpur Sahib corridor was appreciable. After a historic scrapping of the Articles 370 and 35-A, Pakistan’s political and administrative reaction is understandable. To pacify Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI, Army and public psychologically, the abrupt reaction of Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan and other ministers is understandable and expected from the political, economic, international politics and diplomatic angle.

But during such venomous atmosphere between two neighbouring countries, a soothing announcement by Pakistan’s government that the construction of Sri Kartarpur Sahib corridor will continue and will be completed within stipulated period is very encouraging and full with contentment for worldwide Sikhs and followers of Guru Nanak Dev and especially of Punjab, he added.—TNS
