People urged to support police in eradicating drug menace

AMRITSAR: Continuing their drive against drug traffickers and bootleggers, the city police today conducted police-public meetings at various parts of the city.

Amritsar, March 28

Continuing their drive against drug traffickers and bootleggers, the city police today conducted police-public meetings at various parts of the city. Police officials urged people to help the police in eradicating the drug menace in the holy city.

The cops asked the people to share information regarding drug traffickers in their areas. They assured them that their names would be kept secret. They pointed out that to weed out the drug menace from the state and the holy city, people should come forward and inform the police about drug peddlers.

Police Commissioner G Nageshwara Rao said peoples’ cooperation would not only help in eradicating the drug menace but also assist in controlling the crime in the city. He also encouraged the people to admit drug consumers to de-addiction centres. — TNS
