Spring Dale students shine in pool tourney

AMRITSAR: Shubham Sandhu, Karam Gill and Kartik Verma, all students of Spring Dale Senior School, gave outstanding performances in the Open National Eight-ball and Nine-ball Championships organised by the Haryana Billiards and Snooker Association in Panchkula.

Shubham Sandhu, Karam Gill and Kartik Verma, all students of Spring Dale Senior School, gave outstanding performances in the Open National Eight-ball and Nine-ball Championships organised by the Haryana Billiards and Snooker Association in Panchkula.

Shubham won a cash prize of Rs 9,000 with a trophy in nine-ball category and Rs 6,000 and trophy in eight-ball category in the championship. Rajiv Kumar Sharma, Principal, Spring Dale Senior School, said the three students competed with at least 128 participants from other schools to bag key positions in the event. He added that Kartik Verma was in the top 16 list of players (pre-quarters) in eight-ball, while Karam Gill was in the top 16 list of players (pre-quarters) in both eight-ball and nine-ball events. “Shubham Sandhu stood third in eight-ball and second in nine-ball event,” he said.—TNS
