Unidentified man found murdered

AMRITSAR: An unidentified person was found murdered at Bibeksar Road here this morning.

Amritsar, November 24

An unidentified person was found murdered at Bibeksar Road here this morning. During preliminary investigation, the city police found that the man was strangled to death. The cops suspect that he was murdered somewhere else and his body was dumped on the roadside at Bibeksar Road.

Some passersby spotted the body near Guru Ramdas Senior Secondary School on Bibeksar Road. They informed the police and cops reached the spot. Panic gripped the area after the news of the murder spread.

Ravi Sher Singh, Station House Officer, C- Division police station, said, “The man looks to be around 25 year old and belongs to an economically weak section. He has strangle marks on his neck. It is suspected that someone squeezed his throat with a cord. There is no injury on other body parts”.

Police officials stated that they have flashed the message to all other police stations to identify the person. The body of the deceased has been sent for autopsy at the Civil Hospital. It would be kept there for the next 72 hours for identification.

Meanwhile, the police has registered a case under Section 302, IPC, at the Division-C police station and initiated an investigation.
