Bathinda, August 10

Finance Minister Manpreet Badal’s wife Vinu Badal on Friday performed groundbreaking ceremony for laying sewerage system in Silver City colony on the Mansa road.

Talking to the media, Vinu Badal said, “The development of Bathinda is our priority. Funds are being released to fulfil the aspirations of residents. This sewerage project will cover approximately 3 km and will be completed by September.”

Vinu Badal said she had come to listen to the grievances of people and get these resolved at the earliest.

She also assured that whatever they had been promised would be delivered in the coming days.

She said the government was aware of the sewerage problem in the city, which the residents had been facing for the past many years, but they had taken measures to resolve the issue.

“We are increasing the capacity of ponds, sullage carrier work is also going on to increase its capacity, new motors have been installed and super sucker machines are on the job of desilting sewer holes in the city,” she added.

Vinu Badal claimed that Finance Minister Manpreet Badal had recently issued Rs 75 lakh for the desilting work, but it would take some time as things had been at fault for the past many years.

Residents of the colony and senior Congress leaders Capt Mal Singh, Balraj Pakka, Vijay Vishst and Gurvinder Singh Laddi thanked her for the initiative.
