BFCET celebrates Int’l Youth Day

BATHINDA: The Department of NSS/NCC & Social Welfare of Baba Farid College of Engineering and Technology (BFCET) celebrated International Youth Day on the college campus here today.

The Department of NSS/NCC & Social Welfare of Baba Farid College of Engineering and Technology (BFCET) celebrated International Youth Day on the college campus here today.

Around 160 NSS volunteers from various courses participated in this celebration. An “Elocution” competition was also organised on the same day. Sixteen participants participated in the event with great enthusiasm.

Topics for elocution were “Role of Youth in Building Up the Nation” and “Effects of Media on the Youth”. All the participants presented their innovative ideas that promote their role as active contributors to society and provide the youth opportunities to reach their potential and achieve their goals.

Abhilash, a student of ME (7th semester), bagged the 1st position, Gurbakshish Singh, BCom (3rd sem) and Ritika from BSc (3rd sem) bagged the 2nd and 3rd positions, respectively.

Parwinder Singh (city traffic in charge, Bathinda) was the chief guest. He motivated the youth by sharing his words of wisdom and valuable experiences.

At the end, the guest of honour distributed prizes to winners and a pledge “Sankalp Se Siddhi” was taken by all together for developing a new and clean India, which would be free from corruption, poverty, unemployment and terrorism.

BD Sharma, Deputy Director, Activities, BFGI, and co-coordinator, NSS/NCC & Social Welfare, BFCET, thanked all the dignitaries.
