Dr Vikas re-elected IMA Bathinda chief

BATHINDA: The elections to the Indian Medical Association (IMA), Bathinda were held and Dr Vikas Chhabra has been re-elected as president unanimously for tenure of two years.

The elections to the Indian Medical Association (IMA), Bathinda were held and Dr Vikas Chhabra has been re-elected as president unanimously for tenure of two years.

The election process for the IMA, Bathinda, which has 550 members from the medical fraternity, was completed late evening on Saturday.

A consensus was reached and Dr Ravikant Gupta (serving as paediatrician at Mother and Child Hospital), Dr Saurabh Gupta and Dr Anil Bansal were elected vice-president of the association.

Similarly, for three posts of joint secretary, Dr Major Shital Jindal, Dr Amit Aggarwal and Dr Ashwani Goyal were elected.

Dr Ajay Gupta was elected press secretary and Dr Shiv Dutta Gupta was elected as chairman of the association.

Dr Parneet Singh Brar was elected as secretary and Dr Deepak Bansal as finance secretary of the association.

The names of members of the advisory committee, patrons and state representatives were also announced.

The elected members said they would ensure ethical practices in the medical profession and ensured that the doctor-patient relation would improve in future. — TNS
