The Bathinda unit of the Punjab and UT Employees Struggle Committee met on Friday at Children’s Park and condemned the attitude of the Punjab Government towards teachers.

Representatives of the Joint Platform of Mass Organisations (JPMO) also participated in the meeting.

Mahipal, senior leader of JPMO, Punjab, while addressing the meeting, criticised the state government for its move regarding regularisation of jobs of teachers but with a difficult condition.

He said this approach of the government would ruin the state-sponsored education system set up to educate children of poor families.

The meeting was presided over by employees leader Sampuran Singh and they had decided to hold a protest march on October 16 in Bathinda in support of teachers.

GS Brar, GS Mandi Kalan, Parkash Nandgarh, SS Dhaliwal and HR Bijwa among other leaders addressed the meeting.
