MALOUT: The Lambi police on Friday seized 20 bottles of Haryana-made liquor from a car and booked Hardeep Singh of Sehna Khera village and one unidentified man.



Malout: The Lambi police on Friday seized 20 bottles of Haryana-made liquor from a car and booked Hardeep Singh of Sehna Khera village and one unidentified man. As per information, when a team of police personnel tried to stop the car near Mann village, the driver tried to run away, but rammed the vehicle into a wall. A case under various sections of the Excise Act has been registered. — TNS

Man, wife held with heroin

Malout: The Kabarwala police on Friday arrested a man and his wife while allegedly carrying 50-gm of heroin at Gurusar Jodha village in Lambi Assembly segment. The accused have been identified as Ajit Singh and his wife Sukhwinder Kaur of Shamkhera village. A case under various sections of the NDPS Act has been registered against the culprits. — TNS

Theft in a mobile shop

Malout: Some unidentified persons on Saturday night decamped with goods worth about Rs 1 lakh from a mobile phone shop at Mohlan village here. The shopkeeper, Mohit Kumar, came to know about it this morning and informed the police. The Kabarwala police have started investigation. — TNS
