MC to build public toilets to meet Swachhta aims

The Municipal Corporation of Bathinda (MCB) is all set to start the construction of bathrooms along the lines of public toilets in the city ahead of the Swachhta Survekshan 2019.

In a proposal, the MCB stated that the civic body was participating in the Swachhta Survekshan and in keeping with its goals, the civic body was planning to build public toilets. The estimate for the work has been put at Rs 8.5 lakh.

The XEN of the MCB had reported that it was an urgent work required to be carried out at the earliest before the Swachhta Survekshan 2019 and as the House meeting was uncertain, it might be approved in anticipation of the approval of the House.

The Mayor, seeing the urgency of the work, gave his approval on November 28. Now, it will be tabled in the coming General House meeting to keep the members abreast of the information.
