4 held for robbing law student

CHANDIGARH:The police have arrested four youths for thrashing a law student of Panjab University (PU) and snatching his valuables at gunpoint near a fuel station on Madhya Marg in Sector 27.



Chandigarh, June 21

The police have arrested four youths for thrashing a law student of Panjab University  (PU) and snatching his valuables at gunpoint near a fuel station on Madhya Marg in Sector 27. The victim was left injured.

Sources said the accused have been identified as Manish Bhatia, Kuljit Singh, Nitin Sharma and Urwinderpal Singh. All college students. All four were produced before the court today that remanded them in one-day police custody.

Sources said the accused were known to the victim, identified as Jonty Goel. 

Police sources said the victim had alleged that the accused were carrying a pistol and they snatched his valuables, including a mobile phone and cash. While Manish, Nitin and Kuljit are residents of Zirakpur, Urwinderpal is from Chandimandir. TNS
