Cattle owners threaten stir

MOHALI: Agitated over the registration of cases, cattle owners in rural areas under the Mohali MC limits have threatened to stage protests in front of police stations and the MC office.

Mohali, July 10

Agitated over the registration of cases, cattle owners in rural areas under the Mohali MC limits have threatened to stage protests in front of police stations and the MC office. Members of the Pendu Sangharsh Committee held a meeting in this connection at Mataur village.

“If the police and the MC authorities will not stop registering cases against cattle owners, we, along with our livestock, would go to police stations and the MC office to stage dharnas. First, the authorities have acquired our land. Now, we are being ordered to shift our livestock away from our homes,” said the members. — TNS
