Cop hit by bike, suffers fracture

CHANDIGARH:A UT constable was seriously injured after a 22-year-old motorcyclist, with two pillion riders, hit him outside Panjab University (PU) this afternoon.

A UT constable was seriously injured after a 22-year-old motorcyclist, with two pillion riders, hit him outside Panjab University (PU) this afternoon. The constable suffered injuries, including a fracture. 

 According to the police, head constable Ram Bhaj and constable Satwinder were on duty on the road separating Sector 14 and 25 when a motorcycle with three persons riding on it came from from the Dhanas side. 

The motorcycle hit the constable following which he and the three bikers fell on the road. All four suffered injuries and were rushed to the GMSH-16. 

 The police said the constable suffered a fracture on his left hand, injuries on his face and both legs.  The police said the motorcycle was being ridden by Sankar (22), a resident of the PU campus. 

 The police have initiated an investigation into the matter.
