Chandigarh: The railway authorities on Thursday carried out an intensive anti-encroachment drive and demolished illegal structures that mushroomed on its property. Besides, the railway also got the plot vacated, where private taxi operators used to park their vehicles. The railway property was also being used as a garbage dump by residents of Daria village. The garbage bin belonging to the village panchayat was also removed. The anti- encroachment drive was supervised by Station Director Hari Deep Kumar, Station Superintendent TP Singh and RPF police post in-charge Rajesh Rana. Chandigarh: One person was arrested by the Chandigarh Police with 250 gram of ganja. According to the police, Sandeep Kumar, alias Kaja, a resident of Dadu Majra Colony (DMC), was arrested from near a government school on Wednesday. Car stolen from Sec 37
Chandigarh: A Honda City car was reportedly stolen from Sector 37, Chandigarh. Complainant Sonia Bains, a resident of Sector 37, reported that she had parked her car (CH 04E 4311) outside her house on July 8. She found it missing the next morning. The police said the footage of CCTV camera installed in the area would be scrutinised. A case of theft has been registered at the Sector 39 police station. TNS
