Ghee, spices seized from unauthorised manufacturing unit at Mianpur village

ROPAR: A large quantity of ghee, refined oil and spices were seized by a team of the Health Department from an unauthorised factory at nearby Mianpur village here today.

A large quantity of ghee, refined oil and spices were seized by a team of the Health Department from an unauthorised factory at nearby Mianpur village here today.

Following this, Civil Surgeon H N Sharma, who was leading the raiding party, sealed the manufacturing unit.

A raid was conducted on the premises of M/s Royal Enterprises at Mianpur village from where large quantity of alleged spurious food ingredients, including vanaspati ghee, refined oil, Pamolein oil, turmeric and red chilli powder was seized, said Sharma.

One-and-a-half quintals of cooking medium ghee, 100-litre refined oil, 60-kg vanaspati ghee, 10-kg turmeric powder, 35-kg red chilli powder, 200 packing wrappers along with labels and packing machine were recovered from the factory, he added.

Samples of the recovered food items were sent to the food laboratory at Kharar for analysis, he said.
