CHANDIGARH: Two short plays — ‘Chudail’ and ‘Planning’ — were staged during the ongoing four-day theatre festival, organised by the Citi Entertainment Network, at the open-air theatre of the Punjab Kala Bhawan here today.

Chandigarh, April 21

Two short plays — ‘Chudail’ and ‘Planning’ — were staged during the ongoing four-day theatre festival, organised by the Citi Entertainment Network, at the open-air theatre of the Punjab Kala Bhawan here today.

The opening play, ‘Chudail’, was written by Balwant Gargi and directed by Balwinder Singh. It brought into focus the depraving moral ethics among the youth who are obsessed with the western lifestyles. All actors essayed their roles well.

Another satirical Punjabi comedy play, ‘Planning’, was written by Gursharan Singh. It bared the absurdity of government officers who remain busy in planning irrational and illogical projects which never see light of the day. Actors Shivam, Mamta, Ritika, Monika, Amandeep, Mohit Muskan, Yash Dev Narayan essayed main roles in plays. — TNS
