Jaskirat, Ayushi move into 2nd round

CHANDIGARH:Jaskirat blanked Garvit 4-0 in a boys’ U-12 first round match on the opening day of the Sunrise Open Tennis Tournament at the Chandigarh Club, Sector 1, here, on Saturday.

Jaskirat blanked Garvit 4-0 in a boys’ U-12 first round match on the opening day of the Sunrise Open Tennis Tournament at the Chandigarh Club, Sector 1, here, on Saturday. Deepansh registered an identical win over Arpit. 

In the girls’ U-12 category, Ayushi Prajapat moved into the second round with a 4-3(2) win over Jiya.

Meanwhile, in the opening round of the combined U-10 category, Ansh drubbed Siddharth 4-0, while Paavni humbled Ditti 4-1. Kabir registered a 4-2 win over Simar. 

Aarav had an easy first-round outing as he thumped Lakhan 4-1. Ishant downed Garvit 4-2 and Jaskirat overcame Amit 4-3(2). 

Meanwhile, in the boys’ U-14 category, Hriday moved into the second round after beating Pravar 4-3(1). Kartikeya defeated Adik 4-2, while Sankalp mastered Ravneet 4-0. 

Kashvi registered a 4-0 win over Sameera and Ayushi defeated Garima 4-2 in the girls’ U-14 first round. 

Kartikey edged past Maninder 4-1 to move into the boys’ U-16 second round. Suwaib tamed Gurpuneet 4-0.
