Chandigarh, November 14

Just about three months after a Punjab and Haryana High Court Judge lost his mother due to alleged medical negligence, the family today made it clear that the Judge had not lodged any complaint with the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

The family, when contacted, said the untimely death was a matter of enormous grief and concern. They were primarily dissatisfied because of non-availability of a consultant at the PGIMER for a considerable period till the patient breathed her last. The Judge could not be contacted.

The assertion comes amidst unconfirmed and unsubstantiated reports that the CBI was probing the matter and it was still pending.

The Judge’s mother was taken to the PGIMER cardiac care centre by the family for consultation, but did not survive, leaving the family dissatisfied.

Sources in the premier investigating agency also confirmed that the Judge had not lodged any complaint with it.

The sources added that the CBI had not registered any case in the matter.
