Labourer dies in road mishap

CHANDIGARH: In a hit-and-run case, a labourer was killed after being reportedly knocked down by a truck near gate number 1 of the Transport Area in Sector 26 last night.

In a hit-and-run case, a labourer was killed after being reportedly knocked down by a truck near gate number 1 of the Transport Area in Sector 26 last night.

The victim has been identified as 31-year-old Pappu Sada, a native of Bihar. His younger brother Kappu Sada reported that he and his brothers worked as labourers in the Transport Area. Yesterday, while Kappu and his brother Vashisht Sada returned to Sector 8, where they live in a verandah outside showrooms, Pappu did not return. Later, Kappu went to look for his brother and found him lying injured outside gate number 1 in the Transport Area. 

He was rushed to Government Multi-Specialty Hospital, Sector 16, where doctors declared him brought dead.  The police have registered a case against the unknown truck driver at the Sector 26 police station.
