Mohali, August 14

The Mohali police have brought notorious criminal Dharminder Singh Gugni on production warrant in case of firing at Punjabi singer Parmish Verma, here.

According to the police, Gugni’s name has cropped up in the case during the interrogation of Dilpreet Singh Dhahan, who, along with his four accomplices, had opened fire on Verma on the intervening night of April 13 and 14.

Though the police remained tight-lipped on revealing the reason behind bringing Gugni on production warrant from the Nabha Jail, sources claimed that he might have supplied firearms to Dilpreet Singh and Rinda’s gang.

It is to be noted that Gugni is also accused in the case of recent target killings of Hindu leaders in Punjab. The case is being investigated by the NIA. According to NIA sources, Gugni had supplied firearms to certain killers in the case of target killings.

Besides, Gugni has also been awarded life sentence by a Mohali court in the murder case of local advocate Amarpreet Singh, aka Lucky.

The Mohali police said Gugni was produced before a local court, which sent him to 3-day police remand.
