Chandigarh, July 12

Pending development works of all villages of Chandigarh will be started soon. The problems of all villages under the UT administration and the Municipal Corporation (MC) will be solved and incomplete works will also be completed.

This was stated by Member of Parliament (MP) Kirron Kher in a meeting with sarpanches and members of the Panchayat Samiti and Zila Parishad on Thursday.

“I have written many letters regarding problems and pending development work in villages. But, still all work has not been done,” said Kher.

“Now, the UT Administrator, VP Singh Badnore, has taken all my letters written regarding development works in villages. He has asked me to hold meetings with representatives of all villages to discuss their needs and prepare a list so that the work can be started,” she added. “The Administrator has assured me that all works will now be completed in villages,” she said.

In the meeting, the MP announced that open air gym would be installed in all villages through the Members of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS).

The common problems of villages, which were highlighted during the meeting, include re-carpeting of roads, replacement of old sewerage and water pipelines and non-functional street lights. “All these problems will be addressed soon,” said Kher.
