Chandigarh, December 6

Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu conferred Alka Chaudhary, programme assistant-cum-data entry operator, Regional Organ and Tissue Transplant Organisation (ROTTO), PGIMER, with the National Award for Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan)-2019.

  The award was given to Alka in recognition of her outstanding performance as the Best Employee/Self Employed Person in the category of disability caused due to blood disorder at a function to celebrate International Day of Persons with Disabilities organised by the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan), Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment on December 3, in New Delhi.   The award comprises a certificate, a gold medal and an amount of Rs 50,000. — TNS
