A senior Panchkula police official said during interrogation of Satbir Singh, who was lodged in the same barrack, along with gangster Deepak Kumar, in the Ambala jail, had revealed that gangster Sampat Nehra, who freed Deepak Kumar, from the police custody, had provided mobile phones.

The official said Nehra had provided mobile phones to Deepak Kumar, Joginder Singh and Satbir Singh, who all were members of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang and languished in the Ambala jail. All three with the help of mobile phones had planned Deepak’s escape with Sampat Nehra and Mandeep, alias Mani.

Till date, the police have arrested Mandeep, alias Mani, whereas Joginder and Satbir were brought on production warrant from the Ambala jail.

The three armed men of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang had fired into the air, used pepper spray on the hospital staff and the police and freed gangster Deepak Kumar, who was brought from the Ambala jail to the Panchkula hospital for a medical examination on June 17.
