Chandigarh, January 19

The second edition of TEDx-Chandigarh, a programme of local, self-organised events that bring people together to share experiences, will be held in Panchkula on January 21. With "Past-Present-Future" as its theme, the event will have people from different walks of life who will be sharing their ideas worth spreading.

Explaining the thought behind the theme "Past-Present-Future", Pritika Mehta, the curator and first-ever licence holder for TEDx-Chandigarh, said, "The idea is to stay connected with our past and firm up our roots even as we look to a bright future and work towards it in earnest. Past, present and future are important. They are so deeply inter-related that none of them can exist without the other. What we turn out in the future largely depends on how we take care of our present."

Aimed at developing a community of like-minded, highly informed and motivated innovators, thought leaders, change makers, designers, entrepreneurs, technologists and socially-concerned individuals, TEDx-Chandigarh 2018 will bring together personalities of international acclaim like Laura Jana, one of world's leading paediatricians, and Urvashi Sahni , founder, Study Hall Educational Foundation, World Economic Forum, as well as self-starters like noted Sufi singer Satinder Sartaaj, India's youngest female dhol player Jahan Geet and Somveer Anand and Jaspal Anand, founders, Pindfresh, a hydroponic-based green company that offers solutions for growing pesticide-free food.

The annual event will also witness internationally and nationally acclaimed personalities like Amardeep Singh Dhanjal, aka Magic Singh, an international magician based in the UK, Jessi Kaur, Fine Arts Commissioner, Cupertino (California), Acharya Balkrishna, the CEO of Patanjali who is India's eight richest person (Hurun 2017) and former SBI chairperson Arundhati Bhattacharya.
