Twenty-four days after the double murder of senior journalist KJ Singh and his nonagenarian mother Gurcharan Kaur, the police are going to release photos of four-five suspects they have zeroed in on during their investigation so far.

SSP Kuldeep Singh Chahal said they had zeroed in on four-five suspects after scrutinising a number of CCTV footages and analysing hundreds of call details. “The photos of these suspects along with the proper video footages would be released and shared with the media very soon,” said SSP Chahal, adding that all suspects were unidentified.

It has been stated that the photos have been sent to a forensic lab to make these clearer. “Several clues clearly indicated that the movements of these persons were not normal,” said the SSP.

Sharing details of the investigation, SSP Chahal said they had quizzed around 600 persons, including close relatives of the victims besides scanning CCTV footages and call dump.

SSP Chahal added that as the matter was sensitive, the police were treading very carefully.

“I must say that our investigation in the case is on the right track and in the right direction,” he said.

KJ Singh and his mother were murdered on September 22 at their residence in Phase 3B2 here. The attackers had also taken KJ Singh’s Ford Ikon car along. The car has not been traced yet.

Probe on right track
