Quack booked on rape charge

PATIALA:The Patiala police have booked a quack on the charge of raping a married woman of a village in Passina block of the district on Friday.

The Patiala police have booked a quack on the charge of raping a married woman of a village in Passina block of the district on Friday. 

The accused, who was running a private clinic at the village, has been identified as Gurpreet Singh. 

The accused has been booked under section 376 and 506 of the IPC.

The police informed that the victim had visited the clinic on October 10 with a complaint of body pain. The police informed that the accused took the victim to Rajpura to get her medicines.

However, the accused, allegedly, raped her in Rajpura. The complainant said the accused raped her for a month by threatening her that he would kill her, if she disclosed the incident. 

Station House Officer (SHO), Passina, said, “Both the accused and victim are married and have children. The accused is on the run, but we are conducting raids to nab him.”
