Rs 2.70 lakh, scooter stolen

CHANDIGARH:Two thefts and a theft attempt were reported from different parts of the city on the intervening night of June 21 and 22.

Two thefts and a theft attempt were reported from different parts of the city on the intervening night of June 21 and 22.  Thieves decamped with cash, valuables and an Activa scooter. 

 A theft was reported from a house in Mauli Complex. Complainant Salim Khan, a resident of Charan Singh Colony, reported that Rs 2.70 lakh, a mobile phone and jewellery items were stolen from his house. The thief also stole the keys of an Activa scooter and sped away with the scooter.

 The theft came to light in the morning after which the police were informed following which a case was registered at the Mauli Jagran police station.

In another incident, a theft was reported from a toy shop in Sector 22. Complainant Ajay Partap, a resident of Sector 48, reported that a laptop, Rs 30,000 and cheques were stolen from his shop, Toy Zone. The police have registered a case at the Sector 17 police station. 

A break-in attempt was reported from a booth in Sector 31. Anil Kumar reported that someone tried to commit a theft at Om General Store. The police were informed following which a case was registered at the Sector 31 police station.
