Students get tips on solving social issues

CHANDIGARH:The Department of Information Technology, UIET, Panjab University (PU), organised a workshop on ‘Application Development in Python’.

Chandigarh, June 11

The Department of Information Technology, UIET, Panjab University (PU), organised a workshop on ‘Application Development in Python’.

The objective of the workshop was to sensitise the students about solving problems of the urban society. Eminent personalities from industries and public sectors were invited. Henning Thole, Founder & CEO of VT Netzwelt GmbH, Berlin, talked about his journey as an entrepreneur. Dinesh Sharma, Deputy General Manager, NICSI, talked about career in the IT sector.

Sachin Jain from Oracle Corporation discussed the importance of service delivery in software development process. Prof Krishan Saluja, Coordinator, Department of Information Technology, UIET, said such workshops and interactive sessions provide students with practical exposure and helped them become industry-ready.

Workshop coordinators Raj Kumari and Rajni Sobti appreciated all experts who contributed to make the workshop a success. Students and faculty of the Information Technology Department were present. The workshop concluded with an open house feedback session.
