Chandigarh, November 15

A local court awarded two years of imprisonment to two persons in a robbery case.

The convicts, Lucky and Balwant, along with two juveniles, who are still facing trial, were booked under Section 392 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code on April 26 last year.

As per the complainant, Ramandeep Singh, a resident of Mohali, he, along with his friend Manpreet Singh, was going to motor market in Sector 38 on an Activa scooter. Manpreet stopped the scooter near the CTU workshop, Sector 25, to attend nature’s call. Four boys came there all of sudden with one of them armed with a wooden stick. They started demanding money from Ramandeep. As he resisted, they started abusing him and thrashed him before robbing him of Rs 5,000 and the Activa.

Manpreet returned only to find Ramandeep injured. He took the complainant to the PGI in an auto-rickshaw and later approached the police.
