Woman dies at Shivalikview

CHANDIGARH:A 44-year-old woman, who was staying at Hotel Shivalikview in Sector 17, reportedly died on Wednesday night.

Chandigarh, July 19 

A 44-year-old woman, who was staying at Hotel Shivalikview in Sector 17, reportedly died on Wednesday night. The police have ruled out any foul play in the incident and have termed it a natural death. 

The police received information about the death of the victim, Ranju Chopra, from Government Multi-Specialty Hospital (GMSH), Sector 16, where she was taken by her husband for treatment. 

The police said the victim, along with her husband Ashwin Chopra and their 14-year-old daughter, was staying in the hotel since May 23. The family hails from Ferozepur and was staying in Ludhiana. However, they recently decided to shift to Chandigarh. Ashwin is a businessman. 

The police said according to Ashwin’s statement, the victim was asthmatic and fell unconscious in the hotel room after which she was rushed to the hospital where doctors declared her brought dead. 

The police have initiated inquest proceedings in the matter at the Sector 17 police station.
