CHB demand survey from Oct 14

The Chandigarh Housing Board (CHB) is all set to start the demand survey for the self-financing housing scheme, comprising 492 flats of various categories, in Sector 53, Chandigarh.

The CHB will accept online applications from October 14 to November 30. The applications have to be submitted online as manual applications will not be accepted.

The brochure for the demand survey has been uploaded on the CHB website www.chbonline.in yet.

The allottees will have to make 100 per cent payment of the chargeable price before possession. Those applying during the demand survey will be given preference in the allotment.

As many as 192 three-bedroom flats (HIG), each costing around Rs 1.80 crore; 100 two-bedroom flats (MIG), each costing Rs 1.47 crore; 120 one-bedroom flats (LIG), each costing Rs 95 lakh; and two-room flats (EWS), each costing Rs 50 lakh, are proposed to be constructed under the scheme.

The demand survey is being conducted for allotment of flats without any commitment. The CHB shall launch the scheme only after receiving an adequate response from interested eligible persons. A decision in this regard will be taken in about a month’s time from the closing date of the survey. In case the scheme is abandoned, the refund, without interest, will be made by January 15, 2020.

Applicants are required to deposit a payment of Rs 10,000 in the case of sub-scheme A, B, C and Rs 5,000 in the case of sub-scheme D as a token of confirmation, which will be adjusted in the earmest money deposit at the time of the launch of the scheme.

On the launch of the scheme, if an applicant decides not to participate further, the whole amount of deposit will be forfeited. The applicant should be a bona fide resident of the Union Territory of Chandigarh on the date of the opening of the scheme. 

However, this condition shall not apply to the following categories of people: Serving defence personnel and pensioners/family pensioners of defence personnel, employees of the Government of India, Punjab Government, 

Haryana Government and the Chandigarh Administration and their boards/corporations/undertakings; and retired employees of the Government of India, Punjab 

Government, Haryana Government and the UT Administration and their boards/corporations/undertakings.
