‘Muskaan’ scheme launched

Additional Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Kumar Maria today launched the ‘Muskaan’ project. Under the project, a survey of the child sex ratio would be conducted at the panchayat level. He said panchayats regular monitoring would be conducted in villages with low gender ratio. The ADM said early registration of pregnancies will be ensured at the aanganwaris and health centres to ensure antenatal health services were provided to the mother. He said under the scheme, the family of a new born girl child will receive a congratulatory message signed by the CM followed by her registration under the Fixed Deposit scheme. He said ‘Girl Child Days’ will be observed in every panchayat at least thrice a year. Una is amongst 100 districts of the country with lowest sex ratio in the age group of 0-6 years. — OC
