Chandigarh, December 19

St Soldier International School, Sector 28, defeated DPS, Sector 40, by six wickets in a match of the (U-17) Blessed Edmund Rice Cricket Tournament here today.

Winning the toss, DPS lads opted to bat and scored 87 runs all out in 16 overs. Jaswinder scored 39 of 30 balls while Yash scored 16 off 17 balls. For bowling, Akash claimed 5 for 20.

In reply, St Soldier scored 90 for four in 17 overs. Himanshu with 37 runs and Harsh with 18 runs were the main noticeable players of the team. For bowling, Vaibhav with 3 wickets for 12 runs was the pick of the day.

Meanwhile, in another match, DC Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 7, Panchkula, defeated Chandigarh Baptist School, Sector 45, by 31 runs.

Batting first, DC Model scored 123 for seven in 20 overs. Shivam Garg scored 32 runs while Mayur scored 64 runs. For bowling, Ritik scalped 2 wickets for 24 runs while Harsh claimed 3 wickets for 24 runs.

In reply Chandigarh Baptist was bowled out at 92 runs in 16 overs. Karan (21) and Mannat (25) scored a lion’s share. For bowling, Shivam claimed 4 wickets for 23 runs.
