3 get 2-year jail in snatching case

CHANDIGARH: Three youngsters were awarded two-year jail by a local court for snatching a purse of a Dadu Majra Colony resident.

Three youngsters were awarded two-year jail by a local court for snatching a purse of a Dadu Majra Colony resident. However, the accused, Atul, Rohit and Prince, were given bail later.

According to the police, Ram Ashish, a resident of Sector 38 (West), alleged that on June 6, 2013, he was stopped near a local bus stand at knifepoint and his purse, containing Rs 1,500, was snatched.

Though they were booked under Sections 382, 34 and 411 of the IPC, they were convicted under Sections 382 only.
