Dehradun, January 15

Senior MLAs, who failed to find a berth in the Trivender S Rawat Cabinet last year, are keenly awaiting the outcome of the state BJP core group meeting to held tomorrow. Party MLAs will also participate in the meeting, which will be chaired by in-charge of state BJP affairs Shyam Jaju.

Soon after the visit of national president Amit Shah to Dehradun a few months ago, the Uttarakhand BJP chief Ajay Bhatt had said that the party will accommodate senior BJP leaders with ministerial level posts during Diwali. But, it remained a mere announcement.

Several senior BJP leaders and MLAs have been eyeing ministerial level posts since the party came to power in March last year. Most turned silent after they were reminded of the party discipline and organisational ethos by the senior leaders in New Delhi. Their expectations have once again taken wings.

Party sources said that Shayam Jaju’s visit along with national general secretary Ram Lal was being keenly awaited. Party sources claimed that as part of the strategy, senior leaders who were left out during the time of ticket distribution for the Assembly polls would be given priority.

Recently, Didihaat MLA BS had expressed dismay at the delay in allocating the posts besides claiming that he was among the probables.
