Bumpy ride awaits BJP bigwigs in Hisar today

The district authorities are scampering to cover up dilapidated roads. The condition of roads stands exposed because of today’s light showers on the eve of the BJP executive meeting to review two years’ performance of the state government.

As the BJP’s bigwigs, including CM Manohar Lal Khattar and central leadership, will remain in the town for two days, Opposition leaders are attacking the government for its failure to repair roads in two years.

Several roads in the town have been crying for attention. Residents and Municipal Corporation members have raised the matter with the district administration and leaders several times.

There was patchwork on some roads near Agrasen Bhawan, the venue of the meeting. But the Chief Minister and other VIPs will experience a bumpy ride in other parts of the city such as Mill gate area, Rajgarh road, bus stand-Civil Hospital road and GJUST road.

Local MLA Kamal Gupta reportedly told DC Nikhil Gajraj to expeditiously get the patchwork done on roads likely to be used by BJP leaders.

INLD MP Dushyant Chautala recently wrote to the PWD minister Rao Narbir Singh, highlighting the condition of roads. The minister, in reply, wrote the government had floated tenders for repair of roads under his department, while roads in the interior of the town were maintained by other agencies.
