The annual butter festival at Dayara Bugyal in Uttarkashi will be celebrated tomorrow.
Mohan Rana, organiser of the festival, said, “The festival is held on Bhadon Sankranti which falls on August 17. We will hold a cultural festival and have extended an invitation to Tourism Minister Satpal Maharaj.”
The festival is locally known as Anduri Utsav. Residents of Raithal and other villages celebrate nature’s bounty by smearing each other with butter and chaach (butter milk). — TNS
