BJP secretary and Haryana Affairs in charge Anil Jain today indicated that a Cabinet expansion would take place in Haryana soon after the conclusion of the national executive meeting scheduled in the first week of April. He denied that a conflict in the party had delayed the election of Deputy Speaker of the Vidhan Sabha.

The BJP, Jain said, had sternly told its leaders, including ministers Anil Vij, Ram Bilas Sharma and OP Dhankar not to tweet anything that can be construed as disrespect to colleagues or to other national leaders. These leaders had in the recent past said derogatory things about Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru.

On the Dera Sucha Sauda’s open support to the BJP in the last elections, Jain said the dera had extended unconditional support . But this does not mean that the BJP will help the dera chief in his ongoing court cases before a CBI court. “We will let the law take its own course,” Jain added.

Dispelling rumours about differences between Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and BJP President Amit Shah, Jain said the two were on the best of terms and any rumours to replace Khattar as Chief Minister could only be termed as a mischief.
