Stating this today, Education Minister Ram Bilas Sharma said the government was making consistent efforts to make the state cashless. He said in view of this, the Higher Education Department had prepared an action plan under which teaching and non-teaching staff of colleges and universities would be associated with the cashless payment system. Students would also be motivated to adopt different modes of cashless transactions for payment of fee, withdrawal of scholarship amount and other transactions.

He said assistance of units such as the NSS and the NCC would be sought to make people aware about digital payment systems. The Minister said the heads of colleges and universities would make students aware about these systems and then select some students to serve as volunteers for educating others.

Such students would be registered on the website www.mhrd.gov.in/visaka till December 14. After that, training would be imparted to these volunteers from December 15 to 20.

The Minister said these volunteers would be assigned particular areas. After the campaign ended on January 12, they would upload their report on work and experiences on the website, he added.
