The higher reaches of Dhauladhar ranges and Bara Bhangal experienced the season’s first snowfall, while heavy rain lashed the lower areas. Commuters had to go through a harrowing time as the bus service between Baijnath and Kothi Kohar remained suspended for the second day today. The power supply to many areas was also disrupted. As

most tributaries of the Beas are in spate, residents have been advised to stay away from the banks.

Landslide snarls up traffic in Kullu

Kullu: Intermittent showers in the Kullu valley today brought respite from the rising temperatures during the past couple of days. With rivers and rivulets of the district overflowing, the administration has advised masses to refrain from going near rivers or rivulets.

There were reports of flash floods and landslides from various parts of the district. However, no major loss was reported. Traffic between the Aut-Luhri National Highway (No.305) was hampered due to landslide at Ropri in Ani subdivision of this district. Further, traffic was temporarily affected at a few interior roads of the district due to landslides.

Orchardists rued that their apple produce could not be transported due to damaged roads, causing huge losses to them.
