Birth of 500 girls celebrated in Rewari

With a twin aim to improve the deteriorating gender ratio and motivating people to check female foeticide, the district authorities today celebrated the birth of about 500 girls born in December 2012 and 2013.

With a twin aim to improve the deteriorating gender ratio and motivating people to check female foeticide, the district authorities today celebrated the birth of about 500 girls born in December 2012 and 2013.

Such functions were held in every block of the district wherein kin of the girls and their co-villagers were invited to encourage them for treating girls like boys. DC RC Verma also attended such a function at Masani village of Rewari block. “The move aims at improving the gender ratio in Rewari district which has 856 girls against 1000 boys,” said Verma. — TNS
