GMCH Director gets extension

CHANDIGARH:Putting an end to speculation, the Chandigarh Administration has extended the tenure of Dr Atul Sachdev, Director-cum-Principal, Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Sector 32, by one year.

Putting an end to speculation, the Chandigarh Administration has extended the tenure of Dr Atul Sachdev, Director-cum-Principal, Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Sector 32, by one year. Dr Sachdev's three-year tenure ends in April 2016.

Dr Sachdev had taken over as the Director of the GMCH in April 2013, succeeding Dr Raj Bahadur.  Dr Sachdev has been given an extension at a time when some faculty members are demanding that the post be advertised.

Anurag Agarwal, Health Secretary, UT, confirmed that Dr Sachdev's tenure had been extended by a year.
