Haryana Agricultural University''s annual budget approved

CHANDIGARH: Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University (CCSHAU), Hisar, has approved an annual budget of Rs 375.75 crore for 2015-16.

Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University (CCSHAU), Hisar, has approved an annual budget of Rs 375.75 crore for 2015-16.

The budget was approved in Board of Management meeting chaired by vice-chancellor KS Khokhar, an official spokesman said here today.

The university's comptroller Naveen Jain said the budget for the next fiscal was 7 per cent more than the current one.

Of the amount, 56 per cent will come from state plan (agriculture), 30 per cent from state non-plan (agriculture) and 9 per cent from Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and other agencies like University Grants Commission (UGC), Department of Science and Technology, he said.

Apart from this, 5 per cent will be generated from internal resources by the university, he added.

The spokesman also said 29 per cent of the total budget would be spent on research, 13 per cent on teaching, 11 per cent on extension activities, 32 per cent on administration, 13 per cent on service unit and 2 per cent on student welfare. — PTI
