Charging the Harish Rawat government with ignoring his constituency and the problems faced by his people, the BJP legislator (Gadarpur) Arvind Pandey along with other BJP leaders launched an indefinite hunger strike from today from the main gate of the government secretariat.

Till the time of filing of this report, the MLA had not called of his stir and has declared that from tomorrow he will intensify his stir by forgoing water. “From time to time, I have raised the burning problems faced by the people of my constituency but the government has turned a deaf ear to my pleas,” he said.

The demands raised by the MLA include repair of the 15 km stretch of road leading from Gadarpur to Dineshpur and withdrawal of cases lodged under the Criminal Act in the case pertaining to Ravinder Bajaj and others versus the Uttarakhand government. The MLA was ably supported by senior BJP leader and MLA Harbans Kapoor, Rajesh Shukla and other BJP leaders.
