Fatehgarh Sahib, Sept 29

Loyalists of late Gurcharn Singh Tohra led by Karnail Singh Panjoli, SGPC member, today celebrated the leader’s birth anniversary and passed a resolution condemning Tohra’s daughter and son-in-law for joining AAP.

The organisers, however, felt disheartened as none from the government came to attend the function. Sher Singh, former president, Municipal Council Sirhind-Fatehgarh Sahib, said Tota Singh was the chief guest and SGPC chief Avtar Singh Makkar was to preside over the function, but both fail to turn up.

He said earlier on September 24, a blood donation camp in Tohra’s memory was organised and Education Minister Daljit Singh Cheema, who was to inaugurate the camp, failed to turn up.

Prem Singh Chandumajra, who presided over the today’s function, said he cancelled his engagement with the Union Transport Minister and the Union Home Minister to attend the event. He said he was father figure for all of them and considered them as his family members.
