Akash Gupta and Tina Rawat of Dehradun won the Stag Hemlata Kohli Memorial Uttarakhand State Table Tennis Championship-2014 under the men and women categories here today.

Akash Gupta and Tina Rawat of Dehradun won the Stag Hemlata Kohli Memorial Uttarakhand State Table Tennis Championship-2014 under the men and women categories here today. The championship was organised at Summer Valley School.

Under the men’s category, Akash Gupta beat Sahil Jolly by 3-1.

Under the women’s category, Tina Rawat defeated Vinita Negi by 3-1

In the semi- final matches, Vinita Negi beat Vanshika Saxena by 3-0, while Tina Rawat defeated Sunita Chhimwal 3-2 in the women’s category.

Under the men’s category in the semi-final match, Akash Gupta beat Rakesh Kumar, and Sahil Jolly defeated Suraj Rana.

All the players were from the SVS Table Tennis Academy, Dehradun.

AB Lal, president of the Uttarakhand Table Tennis Association (UKTTA), gave away prizes to the winners.

Ashok Wasu, secretary, UKTTA, Col Jasvinder Singh, Chetan Gurung, Prince Vipon, Girish Madhwal and Bhagwan Singh were also present.
