Mehbooba, Omar greet people on Shab-e-Baraat

SRINAGAR: Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti today greeted people on the occasion of Shab-e-Baraat and hoped that the the occasion would be the harbinger of peace and development in the state.

Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti today greeted people on the occasion of Shab-e-Baraat and hoped that the the occasion would be the harbinger of peace and development in the state.

In a statement, Mehbooba described the occasion as an opportunity to seek Almighty’s mercy and pray for peace and well-being of the entire humanity.

The Chief Minister said: “During the holy night of prayers, we should vow to be compassionate and work towards strengthening the bonds of brotherhood, love and amity among the people”.

Meanwhile, National Conference president Farooq Abdullah and working president Omar Abdullah on Sunday greeted the people on the occasion of Shab-e-Baraat and have prayed for peace and prosperity in the state.

The National Conference leaders said Shab-e-Baraat was “one the most sacred nights where believers express their unshakeable faith in the Almighty”.

“This sacred night, known as the night of fortune, blessings and forgiveness signifies the supremacy of faith and the oneness of God and that the Almighty is the supreme provider and giver. On this night we all pray for our state’s well-being and prosperity,” Abdullahs said in a statement.

Senior party leaders, including general secretary Ali Mohammad Sagar, additional general secretary Sheikh Mustafa Kamal and provincial president, Kashmir, Nasir Aslam Wani also greeted people on Shab-e-Baraat.
