The state BJP today said the party was preparing profile of officers working as Congress agents. They advised them not to cross the “Lakshman rekha” as they would be made accountable for their “misdeeds”.

“We have received complaints that some contractors are being given priority in payments irrespective of the status of work done by them. The BJP will soon come out with the evidence to expose these officers,” said Ganesh Dutt, state BJP spokesperson, while interacting with the media here today.

Alleging that the Congress government had invented another industry called “Transfer Industry”, he said a bribe of Rs 20,000 was being paid for the transfer of Class III and IV employees, while the transfer charges for officers, range between Rs 1 and 2 lakh.

He said the performance of the government had been dismal on all fronts and illegal felling of trees had broken the record of illicit felling during the past 60 years.

“Honest officers are being suspended or transferred and a lurking sense of insecurity is haunting them, affecting their work efficiency,” he said.

Accusing the Congress government of turning a volte-face on all issues raised by it during the Assembly polls, Dutt said no action was taken on the much publicised “charge-sheet” prepared by the Congress to malign BJP leaders as the charges were false.

The Congress criticised the BJP government for promoting private universities but now it was patronising private universities and giving extension to eco-tourism projects, he said, adding that the government must come clean on these as it smacks of corruption.

On Congress leaders asking about 50-day account of the Modi government, the BJP spokesman said people in Himachal sought performance account of Congress government during the past 730 days. The youth and employees who were promised jobs and implementation of 4-9-14 decision from 2006 were a disappointed lot as the government had failed in fulfilling its commitment, he added.
