Nine state youths stuck in Malaysia to return today

MUSSOORIE: Nine youths from Uttarakhand, who had gone to work at a restaurant in Malaysia around a year ago and were stuck there, were likely to return by an Air-India flight tomorrow.

Nine youths from Uttarakhand, who had gone to work at a restaurant in Malaysia around a year ago and were stuck there, were likely to return by an Air-India flight tomorrow.

Rajeshwar Painuli, senior BJP leader and chief coordinator the Dobra Chanti Pul Banao Sangarsh Samiti, the nine youths from the state would return by an Air India flight tomorrow.

The state government arranged the air tickets for the nine persons who had gone to work at a restaurant through a travel agent in Delhi but were stuck without their passports and salaries due to the indifferent attitude of the restaurant owner in Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia.

The Central government arranged for the passports and other necessary documents for them in Malaysia. The Centrealso contacted the Malaysian government and ensured that all employees working in the restaurant at Kula Lumpur get their due salaries, said Painuli.

He said the state government also chipped in and arranged for air tickets for the stuck youths so that they could return safely.

Those stuck in Malaysia are Arvind Negi (Chauras, Tehri), Arvind Singh Kaintura (Tachela Jamal, Tehri), Mahendra Singh Negi (Dehradun), Prakash Singh (Mad Lohaghat, Almora), Satendra Uniyal (Pansuk village, Tehri district), Brijmohan Singh (Rudraprayag), Vijay Pal Singh (Kandi Saud, Tehri), Murti Singh Kamand (Tehri), Kamal Singh (Lohaghat, Champawat).

Tehri District Magistrate Yugal Kishore Pant also confirmed the report and said all nine persons, of which four are from Tehri district, would be returning early morning tomorrow.
